Tuesday, September 20, 2022 - Another beauty tasted alongside the 3 star lunch at Restaurant Akelare, San Sebastian.
There was some ullage in the bottle but the wine presented itself splendidly: Typical smell of "sweaty saddle" (I said: Sweaty socks") , leather, cold embers; very refined, suave and sexy on the palate and the nose and with a good finish which, at the end, became a tad acidic.
A wonderful experience!

Maybe an obsession of mine… Who knows the human soul?…

So Australia, I see but the real question is to know, Melbourne or Sidney?

Maurice McShea was a very prominent winemaker there in the 40ies and 50ties and I got to taste some of those beauties when I lived in Australia. Alas, the winemaking style there has changed as well and those beauties are gone.....
Sic transit gloria mundi!
