Given that this is an 'off' vintage....maybe there is hope for the other 'good' years....as this wine is at last drinkable, without the constant battle of the tannins going on inside your mouth. Per the usual Dunn style, crisp, clear (excellent color) and an overwhelming blackberry, black cherry flavor. Full bodied, but unlike other years....a smooth finish, not the usual pucker face from the lost battle of the tannins. Balance has finally come to this wine.....maybe, just maybe, the other years will be drinkable before my funeral. I must say the I enjoyed this more than any other Howell Mountain (96-07). I would drink this in the next few years.
