Sunday, August 28, 2011 - Decanted for 2 hours: do that! Tasted on opening (at cool cellar temp) the wine was totally disjointed and tarry. But after the air settled things down, the tannins resolved into the fruit (still full and forward: blackberries and bramble), the bouquet intensified, and the back end pepper and tobacco notes lengthened. I did not like this wine 5 years ago and decided to wait. Glad I did. Just now coming together. A few more years should do the trick for sure. Next bottles will wait till then.
