Wednesday, February 24, 2010 - Quite fruit forward, lots of iron. Great acid and grip. After 6 hours of air, a pure cherry fruit with a sour twinge. No tertiary flavors- no bacon, no rust, no leaves. Fresh and delicious. Lots of salinity on the nose with cherry, black soil, wet stone, leather, rose. Had with veal chop & morels w/ creme fraiche - was the bomb. A weaker vintage, but a fantastic value for a Ratti that is ready to drink, and is approachable while remaining challenging and interesting.
