Saturday, June 13, 2020 - From Coravin; nose is initially a bit funky and earthy and reduced but after that blows off there is only a slight black pepper and fennel seed note. Palate is definitely still alive with nice acidity and bright red and blue fruits, more of that fennel seed and completely resolved tannins. Reminds me more of a Cote Rotie than a Hermitage but it still has good balance and is in a fantastic place right now. Not sure it’s going to get any better from here though so drink up, ideally with a short rib beef stew.
