Saturday, March 1, 2014 - Dark core, almost purple with thin rim, looking very youthful. Nose is quite reticent, black fruits eventually coming through with some balsamic notes too. The palate is black cherry, medium body, some spice, with drying but integrated tannins. Long, warming finish, perhaps the alcohol showing a little. This wine was part of Rioja tasting and was universally the least liked of the five wines tasted blind. I think this is still much too young and needs a few more years to integrate the constituent parts.
