The wine was outstanding with a massively explosive nose of currant, leather, and still a lot of new oak. Cabernet Sauvignon makes up nearly 80% of this blend and it definitely shines through in every way. Full bodied with a big silky mouthfeel and a nice finish. I don't know how they can make such a good wine in such large quantities but J Phelps continues to do it year in and year out. With the newer vintages starting to creep up to silly price levels, it's nice to find one of the older ones for under $100.
