Sunday, May 6, 2012 - Decanted for 1.5 hours. Tannins were fairly strong at first when opening, but quickly mellowed out once decanted. Notes of vanilla and oak, like others mentioned. However I disagree about the vanilla being excessive. This wine has nice acidity, structure, and balance. It held up easily with a ribeye steak. I will probably give my other bottles at least another 6 months to a year, but it drinks very nice with decanting now.
