Likes this wine:

Thursday, February 4, 2016 - Upon opening, silky, velvety nose of smoky underbrush, white and black pepper and dark black cherry. Quite a hit of new worldish sweet red and black fruit at first on the attack, but good structure and acidity keep it from being over the top sweet. After about half an hour in the decanter, nose stayed consistent, but pronounced tannins and acid started to show up on the palate and sweetness receded quite a bit. After a couple of hours, everything came into balance. A beautiful wine, great for drinking on its own and went well with pan roasted halibut - just entering its drinking window. If you like more secondary and tertiary favors, more cellaring will do it good, but a pleasure to drink now.
