93 Points

Tuesday, December 10, 2019 - Continues to perform beautifully and still on the way up, me thinks.
I paired this with a good old filet mignon with garlic-mashed potatoes and broccoli and it was fantastic. No need for the tannins, etc. of a red wine because there's so much depth to this demi-sec and I highly recommend trying this type of pairing. Quite enlightening.
Light gold color with a bright reflection and clear body.
Medium to profound nose of apricot and orange rind, apple and pear, a hint of wet rocks. Great balance on the palate where it never feels heavy or dominated by any one element. As others have said, "seamless". 5+12+17+9= 93

12/10/2019 12:26:00 PM - Hi Fingers, thanks for your note with the interesting hint to combine red meat with a semi dry wine. I had also some similar experience with a Dönnhoff GG Riesling Dellchen (in principle a dry wine, but quite rich with a lot of minerality) and a good piece of beef meat. By the way I do not understand your note: when I count the points together I am at 43 and not at 93.

12/10/2019 2:33:00 PM - Thank you for the kind remarks, MJReb. Sorry about any confusion on my rating. According to most popular guidelines, 50 points is a base for any given wine and I’ve always been a little lazy in not including it in my formula.
    Cheers
