Friday, April 5, 2013 - Tasted blind. Picked up some eucalyptus and just a hint of pyrazine on the nose, mixed with red fruit. At first sip and upon opening I would've pegged this as a much earlier vintage, as the tannin was barely noticeable. However, with air over the next few hours, the fruit stepped back and the tannin crept in. At this point, I was reminded that this bottle will benefit from some time; the flavors were still fairly primary, though quite tasty. If I were to open another this young, I would give a lengthy decant to see how it continues to evolve, since it changed so much over the 2 hours from the bottle.
