Friday, July 18, 2014 - Tasted as part of an 07, 08, 09 Ovid Estate Cab vertical. This was a 70-bottle cab v. Bordeaux dinner and the people lucky enough to taste the Ovid were unanimous in high praise and far more than fair share 'best of the evening' votes. All three of these wines were amazing and it was fun to compare. 08 was the stand out with 07 not too far behind. 09 was a little young but will be a star in 3 years. In fact, 07 and 08 will continue to improve as well.
All three Ovids displayed Pritchard Hill terroir, structure and balance. Powerful noses, subtle spice, earthy and fleshy.
