Friday, April 14, 2023 - PnP. Dark and funky - beautiful dark fruits - blackberry and black cherry and a bit of black currant. Nice funk - horsey and bell pepper, with a hint of leafy tobacco. Earthy. Pepper and white pepper. There’s a hint of candied fruit that I think is the lovely 2010 purity. Palate isn’t as open yet - but it’s getting there - dark and funky and murky. Lovely texture - soft and almost creamy - plush and a little grainy with resolved tannins. Dark fruit, earth, leather, funk, tobacco. There is a real Seve on entry for a bit. Good acid and excellent balance - finish is long and complex and funky and herbal/tobacco. The first of the older Baudrys I bought recently and I love it. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17-17.5/20.
