Friday, June 30, 2017 - Tasted blind. Pop and poured. Drank over 2 hours. Casual Friday at ESBK.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of savoury meat, leather, bretty earth, dark red cherries, roasted dark herbs. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, grainy high tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of leather, dusty earth, dark red cherries, sour red cherries, dark herbs, grilled capsicums. Medium+ finish.
Acceptable quality. Ugh. Disappointed to find out that this was a Fontodi Chianti Classico. I have had other vintages of this that were very good. Not a performer in this variable Tuscan vintage. Time to drink up already also.
