Friday, January 27, 2012 - Lovely bright light gold. Nose of melons and lemons, butter and vanilla, rich flowers. Still tasted plenty of fruit, along lines of nose. Toasty. Very rich and mouth filling, luxurious, more hot year Mersault than anything else burgundian. But maybe the oak was still a bit obvious. Very good length. Amazingly lively. The label said drink by 2011 but there was lots of life left. Not overdone but maybe getting a bit that way. I suspect they may have dialled back on the oak more recently. But well worth cellaring, and for quite some time.
