Wednesday, December 27, 2023 - Medium gold. Electric and riveting, this shows how good "basic" Riesling can age, particularly under screwcap. On the nose this offers hints of maturity in its dried peach and dried papaya aromas, and middle-aged petrol and tennis ball notes, but really has plenty of gas in the tank and loads of citrus, white flower, and reductive mineral aromas too. On the palate this is light to medium bodied with high acidity and a touch of dry extract. It is dry and lean but not angular or aggressive and offers a ton of complexity for a wine at this level. I only wish I had more.
