Friday, August 10, 2012 - Fresh and young nose. Perhaps the scewtop is inhibiting things a bit because it smells like just-bottled. Swirling opens up red and blue fruit on the nose with some slight licorice, hints of white pepper and some rose petal. On the palate, strong acid. Starts slightly tart with big currant, blue and black fruits. Low tannin for the big acid. The Grenache flavors appear on the finish and linger nicely, providing a dry grip that almost comes too late. It leaves me with a slight cocoa tone. It's fresh and juicy but a bit unbalanced for me. Nice drinking for the price.
