Not sure if this is due to the 16 year age of a difficult year since I have not tried other vintages of Spottswoode and comments of younger vintages like 2014 indicate a tightness / acidic profile. None of that here, as it has a beautiful bouquet and is smooth and tasty. Definitely a wine that is drinking well now and matches its cost profile.
