Saturday, October 22, 2016 - Dark ruby from core to edge. No signs of age.
Lifted. Room filling bouquet of dark fruits, hard candy, baking spices, black pepper, cigar box.
Mouth coating plush silky mouthfeel, yet not overly weighty on the mid palate. This is beautiful. Powerful yet restrained and elegant. Classic napa in style yet big mountain fruit. No signs of the big alcohol. Everything is just perfectly integrated and balanced. Long finish.
Drank over several hours, tired out over time. Good amount of sediment.
Dark berries, vanilla, black currants, blackberries, earthy undertones, some sweetness. Just a beautiful wine.
