90 Points

Friday, December 12, 2014 - Medium-Dark in colour the aromas are of pleasant red and black fruits with some floral components thrown in as well. Medium bodied, reasonably complex and is in no way 'stewed' despite having been made in one of the hottest years on record. On the palate it's ripe, round and smooth, but without the racy, spicy complexity this wine is known for. To say it's a little dull is probably too harsh, but it's not as ethereal and exciting as it is in more typical vintages. I certainly wouldn't want to serve this up as an example of the heady heights the wines of Lafarge usually achieve, because your guests won't get what all the fuss is about. It's very good, but not exceptional. Estimated maturity: 2013-2020
