Saturday, May 23, 2015 - Mid straw. Decanted and drunk over three hours. Starts off with a nicely saline nose, quite crisp and with a fairly dense core of minerality. Enough zing and mineral edge to shout Chablis. With air, this takes on proper GC weight and viscosity, and has clearly moved forward since last tasted a couple of years ago. The mineral, saline zing rounds out and whilst a sappy mineral core remains the saline bite is joined by a slightly honeyed richness. Hard to see this getting better, but pox aside, should hold well for a few years. Showing ahead of a Preusses and Clos recently, but that's partially a function of this being in a decent glass (Riedel Montrachet), being decanted and being at a sensible temperature (both wine and room) and being allowed to evolve and develop over several hours. Really very good. Maybe just lacking a little intensity and persistence on the finish ****
