Thursday, October 8, 2009 - Night 1 - closed nose not yielding much. There was some vanilla and green apple, but it was a struggle to coax anything out of this wine. This light-bodied wine reluctantly gave up apple and lemon with bracing acidity. Night 2 - the nose took on a sweet pea note alongside green apple. The palate had loosened up with less acidity and more fruit. Night 3 - the nose still has the sweet pea note which is very unique. The palate has not changed. Overall, I am not certain that I caught this at the right time as it needs at least 5 more years to uncoil, but with all of the oxidation issues, I couldn't afford to wait.
