Friday, July 29, 2011 - This is one of the more interesting and delightful blends from Washington State I've tasted. First sampled at the Bunnell family's Wine O'Clock restaurant I decided to take some home. Well worth the $14 price it is not the usual Washington Merlot centered blend. Fact finding shows over 50% Primitivo and the relationships of the other varietals seems intriguing. It has a subtle nose but hits the palate with a wake-up peppery, crisp-raspberry like surprise that continues in a nicely lingering, slightly tannic call to a second mouthful. Bright and fun this wine is fine to drink now and was a nice complement to a spicy pasta dish we shared last evening.
