Wednesday, July 4, 2012 - Still alive and kickin'... and not shy... after 8 hours of being open, aromas of cola, licorice root, sarsaparilla root, cedar and hints of olive tapenade dominate the nose, with BIG flavors of dried, black currant, sarsaparilla, black licorice, cedar and black leather driving the medium-medium-plus finish and moderate+ alcohol. Mild, dusty tannins, with good acidity, and medium-medium-plus body. Not a your typical Syrah, nor a Northern Rhone look-a-like, though unique and enjoyable for what it is today. I'm sure this will last a few more years due to its structure, through no need to wait, it's ready to drink anytime.
