Saturday, June 29, 2013 - Wine is a medium to intense plum color with a touch of blue. Nose is full of dark berry fruits with some dark bitter chocolate. The mouth just fell apart; The dark berry fruits were there but there was a hot, bitter and acidic nature that just was not pleasant. The wine was totally out of balance but had a tolerable finish with a lot of fruit and a touch of light tannin.
Day 2 bottle corked and set out on the kitchen counter at room temp. Well at least it now tastes like wine but is still over acidic and out of balance but the overpowering hotness is moderated. We'll save more for another day to see what happens but for now we'll rate it an overall 69 althought the more I review my comments, I may be overly gracious here.
