Saturday, November 28, 2015 - First tasted with Charles Metcalfe at Grand Union Wine Society in March 2014. Notes then: 'Farmyard with good fruit on the nose. Lovely fruit on the palate - complex, rich, sweet. Still young - will age well'.
Now: (3h after decanting) Good colour, the 'farmyard' character on the nose 18mo ago is now muted with fruit taking over and hints of caramel, coffee and chocolate as it opened. On the palate - soft dark cherries, plums, and dark berries with spice and mocha coffee. Excellent balance. 6h later: Superb wine to savour slowly on its own, although it handled a sirloin steak beautifully. Very long. I wish I had more of this vintage.
