Friday, September 16, 2016 - Poured into decanter and drank over 90 min. A healthy garnet with very little bricking. Immediately upon opening rather flat but requires only minimal air (20-30 min) to transform into a very elegant and fine Brunello with a medium (-) body, beautiful bright dark and red fruit and the usual earthy notes. Tannins are fully integrated. Medium (-) length. If any criticism then it's that Frescobaldi did not manage to achieve a bit more concentration in this great 97 vintage on the mid-palate which feels a bit thin. With increasing air the brightness fades though and you end up with a more earthy Brunello, so would suggest only a very short decant if at all. This has peaked in my eyes and has started it's gentle decline so drink up. 92-
