Does not like this wine:

78 Points

Thursday, December 3, 2015 - Disjointed and way too much alcohol. It starts out with an artificial candied red fruit, which reads more as "red candy" than any actual discernible fruit. The mid palate is thin with a tiny bit of oak notes, then it transitions to licorice, which quickly turns to a general bitterness that gets increasingly unpleasant. All of the above is coated by an persistent wave of alcohol that just keeps gaining momentum. The nose starts with a nice spicy note, but is similarly pummeled by the alcohol. I've liked other Epoch wines before and I don't have a problem with 15+% wines, but it is really hard to find anything redeeming in this wine. In fairness to their other wines, this is the worst thing I've had from them by a very wide margin, but this sets bottom really low.

Feel free to send the rest of your Epoch stash my way ;)

12/4/2015 8:05:00 AM - I was as surprised as anyone by how this performed, but it really was just bad. It almost drank like a flawed wine, but there was no specific flaw that I could pin down. This was really the worst "good wine" I've had in a long time. Hopefully this was just a fluke.
