91 Points

Friday, April 6, 2018 - Likely a 94 or 95 point wine in the future, with loads of potential. But big and still rather tight - pnp at a restaurant, and could have used a decent decant.

We are quick eaters, in and out in 90 minutes if they can serve that fast, the wine never gets a chance to open and is usually just getting good when we are leaving. I always look for a Pinot or a Zin, they usually don't need a lot of time.

4/6/2018 8:06:00 PM - Living in the DC area, I can almost always byo, which I love. If I'm taking something that might still be on the young side, like a Bordeaux or a bigger Burg, I've started opening the wine at home and decanting for an hour or two before pouring back in the bottle to take to the restaurant. This was the first bottle of the '10 Donjon that I've opened; the next one will get the pre-dinner decant treatment, too.
