Sunday, July 24, 2022 - Appearance - Deep ruby (3)
Aroma - Cedar, tobacco, blackcurrant and blackberry behind this, along with some leather (4.5)
Taste/Texture - Black fruits are faded and quickly swept aside by the fine-grained tannins along with an elderberry note. Milk chocolate and mint come into play. Medium acidity keeps everything well balanced (4)
Aftertaste - Long, pleasant, drying tannins, with the aged flavours lingering (2)
Overall - Personal preference would have been for more fruit, even though this has some age. Overall, in great shape, with a good nose, and enough to keep it going for more years (1.5)
