Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - Roederer Estate was established by Champagne's Louis Roederer in the Anderson Valley. The 580 acre vineyard and winery site was selected by Jean-Claude Rouzand, the fifth generation descendant of the founder of the Champagne company. L'Ermitage is made in only exceptional years from estate grown grapes. The 2003 was made from 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Noir grapes. I don't drink a lot of sparkling wine, but I thought this was a pretty good one. RP 89
