Sunday, March 18, 2007 - Pretty solid bottle of Gewurtz. I like the producer, accross the board makes some pretty decent wines. This bottle is pretty classic Alsace Gewurtz. Intense gold colour, super exotic aromas of Lychee, spice, blueberries and a touch of smoked meat/room freshener. Pretty think and fat on the palate, delivered classic flavours, very ripe, a lot of residual suger, but just enough acid to prevent the wine from being overly sweet or cloying. Good balance indeed, and very enjoyable with spicy Thai food, or to sip on its own.
