Wednesday, April 3, 2013 - This is some really good, nearly bone-dry Riesling. There is a bit of funkiness on the nose that is initially a little odd, but with some investigation gives way to bruised apple, earth and gunpowder. In the mouth, surprisingly good texture, feel and acidic balance on the palate that pairs well with the fruit and floral flavors. The finish doesn't last terribly long but I am really impressed by the integration between the acids and flavors. As soon as the flavors end, so does the acidity, where as some Rieslings can be acid bombs that leave a ton of left over acidity in the cheeks and teeth. Overall, this is really well made and balanced. I have heard people in the past name this winery for their reserve Riesling and now I see why.
