Tuesday, December 21, 2010 - Decanted about an hour prior to pouring, this wine showed exceptionally well from beginning to finish. The aromatics shows a complex blend of pencil shaving, black currant, tobacco, earth and coffee notes that are mature and detailed. Both the bouquet and palate still hold much in reserved with some subdued youthfulness in the back ground. The color is maturing dark ruby. It is correct for the wine age. The medium/full bodied palate shows outstanding balance and a lengthy finish were tannins and acidity remain present. This is at or around its peak but should continue to drink well for at least the next 5 to 10 years.
