Saturday, June 2, 2012 - A more rustic and even a little tired compared to other '89 Baron's I've sampled in the past.
Still excellent expression of left bank Bordeaux. Driven by old leather saddle, rustic bramble berries and raspberries, touch of smoke and some green bell pepper.
Came across a little stemmy for me, but I liked how it played with the food.
Not too much fruit and some light stewed red vegetation was a nice surprise when drinking Marcassin and Aubert alongside.
Still super young. Kenny and I thought this was easily 90's Bordeaux. Clearly a long life still ahead.
