90 Points

Tuesday, June 26, 2012 - Decanted with virtually no sediment (?). Mature color, somewhat bricked -- this gift was stored at room temperature for the past five years. Promising nose two inches above the rim of dark berries, linden tree blossoms, pecans, and leather. Mature flavor follows nose along with a long finish that transitions from pencil lead, to (still) firm tannins, to a mouthwatering finale. All in excellent balance.
