Smells of charcoal, vanilla, chocolate. Modern Barossa shiraz from central casting. Full-bodied with plush red fruits and vanilla oak flavouring, but only soft dusty tannins and not much acid to support it. Intense; dry I suppose, although there’s so much sweetness to the flavours here I did wonder about residual sugar. Still only medium-length finish. A lavish party wine to be drunk within three years.
