93 Points

Thursday, November 5, 2015 - What a difference 6 months can make! The wine is now really starting to come together and the two- point jump may be one of two in time. The soft tobacco, clay, sweet dark cherry and tar nose was followed by a dark earthy clay, oak- soaked dark cherry, smokey flavor-- but just beginning. This will never rise,of course, to the depth and complexity level of the 890, and I suspect that these 904s will have some of the same variability that the wonderful 2001s displayed. Having said that, my initial skepticism, or at least question about this otherwise wonderful vintage, was allayed. The next 3 years will tell if the complexity and depth are added. I suspect they will be. A great investment QPR.
