Thursday, June 30, 2016 - Popped and poured. Clear ruby (no real bricking, but certainly not as dark as your usual tempranillo), no sediment. A little closed at first, but this wine got going after an hour or so. Dark cherry gave way to tart cherry, with complex aromas of plum, wood spice, earth, aged meat, toasted oak and a whiff of farmyard. Medium body, firm but velvety tannins and a pleasant, medium(+) finish. This is a clean, well-made wine, which I am hoping will improve even more over the next few years - although by all means drink now with a decant. Looking forward to opening my next bottle in a year or two.
