Wednesday, September 12, 2012 - Golden yellow color. Fresh and bright, floral nose with aromas of apricot, raisin, orange peel, raisin and mead. Sweet palate follows the nose with honeyed lemon flavors of mead, floral spice, raisin and overripe apricot. Rich, broad and textural full body; the acidity is rather modest, making the wine appear a bit heavy and lacking in intensity and freshness. A tad short finish with flavors of overripe stone fruits, floral spice, sweet honey and candied orange peel.

A decent little drop, although a bit unsusrprising and pedestrian as a dessert wine, made from rather unorthodox grape varieties. A typical new world late harcest dessert wine that does its job with a steady hand and offers no big surprises. Does not challenge European counterparts, but is good value at 12,98€ for a 37,5 cl bottle.
