Saturday, September 16, 2023 - Decanted for 1 1/2 hours (with some sediment) based on some TNs, but probably only needed about 45 minutes to fully open. This wine is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Malbec (from the back label) and presents as dark, full and layered. There were notes of dark berries, chocolate and spice on the nose. The full-bodied palate showed lots of dark fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry), earth, spice, mocha and a touch of coffee. The acidity was up to the job of balancing all the fruit and there was just a hint of some tannins on the long finish. This wine is in a great place right now and will probably hold for several years.
