Thursday, December 19, 2013 - A fantastic wine, the St.Georges is always the best of Chevillon's NSGs but also the most difficult to find. Dark ruby. Initially reductive and closed, after 1h decanting opening up. Concentrated aromas of red fruit and bilberry with flowers and earthy notes, deep complex and lip-smacking sappy. This is more serious and structured than the flamboyant 09. Now that 09 has the upper hand but in 5 years? In any case, as I wrote before, this is one of the best Burgundies money can buy in the high quality segment. Easily challenges many Grand Crus. Best after 2016. 95+
