Thursday, March 2, 2017 - Nose: Though the nose was reticent to begin with, it really blossomed and unraveled into raspberries, dark red cherries, violets, leather notes, brown spices, and a touch of iodine. There is a bit of a tartness to the fruit though the sappier quality a few years back is now pulling back.

Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium+ acidity and medium tannins. The structure is still noticeable, but it isn't too overpowering with raspberries, dark red cherries, violets, leather, and some iodine.

Overall: This has become rather pretty with some age and is just starting to enter its window. Six years ago, this showed a lot more upfront fruit, but now its starting to pull back and show off the terroir. I look forward to seeing where my remaining bottles go with more age.
