Saturday, January 1, 2011 - Chilled, popped and poured.
Nose: Rather refreshing. Notes of almonds and walnuts with pears. Quite pleasant
Taste: An easy and versatile bottle of champagne that is able to go well with food at a dinner/lunch party. The nuttiness carries over along with some stone fruit. Acceptable level of acidity and sweetness.
An accessible sparkling wine, decently well made but nothing profound. You might get a better deal for the same amount money if you look outside of Champagne to other sparkling or methode traditional sparkling wines from around the world.
