Thursday, December 20, 2018 - In the current red plastic full-bottle wrap label. Surprisingly dark colour - decidedly gold. A rather saline, musky nose - not to my liking. Perhaps a little spiced apple lurking behind, if I'm generous. On the palate, searing acidity, with a clean lime note. It has a good rich intensity for NV, although a bit too much more of what always reminds me of canned tuna. Lots of apple all the same. Not the best bottle of this I've had by a long stretch, but it's still good. At the upper end of what I'd want to pay, however. I decanted this and it certainly didn't suffer. The next day, a little left in the glass had a wonderful medlar aroma. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Scotmid (Co-op), £25].
