Thursday, December 22, 2011 - It is fascinating to have the chance to taste such an old wine. Emotions are overwhelming. Amber in colour with a tertiary and complex nose of medium intensity. Porcini mushrooms and dried herbs around a core of bergamot, honey and quince. Some botrytis present. Medium on palate with possibly around 40g/l residual sugars and an athletic acidity that lifts fruit and balances light alcohol and medium- body. Phenolic, solid structure with a long, limey finish. There is absolutely no way to imagine that this was a 100 year old wine. Evolving over time. Thank u Stef...
