94 Points

Monday, May 29, 2017 - From an excellent looking bottle with a bottom neck fill, this wine had a red/purple center with orange/red rims. The nose benefited from 5+ hours of air. At first it showed red currants and Provencal herbs. After 5 hours the herbs moved to the background and added complexity rather than being obvious. The nose showed blackberries, vanilla, coffee, blueberries, soil and some Provencal herbs.

This was rich, ripe, and creamy in the mouth with light rounded tannins and crisp acidity. This had a ton of fruit and may well show more complexity with time. The wine's balance and length were also quite impressive.

While this wine is drinking well now, do not be fooled that this will go downhill from here. This has the richness and balance to have 10-20 years more evolution in the cellar. I expect it to pick up a point or so with additional time.
