Wednesday, January 17, 2007 - I really wish I could dislike Dom Pérignon (motto: billions and billions served) but it's not to be. This is a distinctive Champagne and a great example of Dom, already expressive of that flinty/gunmetal/metallic mineral depth that the best vintages of Dom have, and this one is packed with it. The fruit is bright, bracing, and lemony, almost Blanc de Blancs-like in its precision. A dense, well-structured Champagne with lots of character.
