Friday, February 22, 2013 - Where or when I purchased this, I’m not particularly sure. It appears in my inventory when I set up Cellar! (my now defunct software) program in June of 2001. This one last bottle has manage to survive my gaze ever since 2004 when I killed off some sister bottles. The Tardy brothers created this simple but decently made wine. At least for $10, it’s not a bad wine at all. Giving it a little sniffy-sniff, it shows plum, blackberry, smoke, mixed herbs with a mineral cut and fairly tannic finish. The fruit, however, is fading. With time, oak shows more and fatigues the palate. As a simple wine, the power is on its attack, with the mid-palate and finish showing and then fading fast. 12.5% alc. With cheeses including blues of Stilton and cambozola and truffled cheese (not a good pairing) and sauteed mushrooms. 02.22.13. Recommended with Reservations.
