Monday, March 7, 2011 - Popped and poured. Extremely tight cork; no wetting except on the bottom. Bottle cellared since release at 57 degrees. Medium-light ruby red; no browning. Quite muted on the nose initially; on the palate classic garrigue but significant tannins. Will decant. Consumed a few more glasses during dinner of steak and pasta w pesto; wine has softened significantly and developed excellent depth; the Provencal flavors have become more pronounced. Doesn't yet have the softness or complexity that the best vintages of V-T have but needs another few years; good showing. Will see how it fares on day 2.
